XLRI Jamshedpur concluded its final placement process for the 2023-2025 batch successfully with 100% placements yet again. All the students in the PGDM in Business Management (BM) and Human Resource Management (HRM) programs got job offers. The placement process was completed in a few days, reflecting the institute's good image with the recruiters.

The hiring process engaged more than 100 organisations, with leading names in consulting, banking, FMCG, IT, e-commerce and manufacturing. Some of the lead recruiters were BCG, Bain & Company, Accenture Strategy, Deloitte, HUL, ITC, Nestlé, Asian Paints, Amazon, Flipkart, Tata Steel and Aditya Birla Group. Several companies also made Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) to students on the basis of their summer internships.

Students during the placement season in 2025 saw an average compensation of around ₹31.08 LPA, with the highest domestic deal crossing ₹75 LPA. The median salary was ₹29 LPA, indicating a magnificent placement success among the batch. The number of consultancy, product management and HR leadership roles also saw an increase.

At the HRM program, students were provided with specialised HR duties in top companies, including talent recruitment, HR analysis, organisational growth and HR consulting. BM graduates were placed in roles like marketing, finance, operations, strategy and product management.

XLRI Jamshedpur and Delhi NCR have successfully concluded final placements for the PGDM (BM) and PGDM (HRM) batches. 591 students were eligible and 172 recruiters made more than 600 offers, including two foreign ones. 41 of them were new recruits. The highest domestic salary offered was ₹75 lakh per annum, with the highest international one being ₹1.10 crore. The average salary was ₹31.08 lakh and the median was ₹29 lakh per year. The minimum package offered was ₹11 lakh every year.

The breakdown by industry was as follows: 26% of students were placed in consultant roles with leading companies like BCG, Accenture, Bain and McKinsey. BFSI employed 22% of the students, with clients being Goldman Sachs, Citi and Kotak. Sales & Marketing was placed 18% with HUL, ITC, P&G and others. The other industries were FMCG, Pharma, Real Estate, ITES, E-commerce, Technology, HR, Automotive, Energy and General Management, which were recruited by major recruiters like Amazon, Microsoft, Tata, Sun Pharma, Airtel, Vedanta and IOCL on campus.

503 students belonging to the PGDM (BM) and PGDM (HRM) batches of 2024 were eligible for placement. 498 of them got placed by the institute, whereas 5 did not participate in the institutional placement process. All 498 placed students accepted their job offers. The maximum annual package offered was ₹4.90 lakhs, with median and mean packages of ₹26.88 lakhs and ₹26.34 lakhs, respectively. The minimum package reported was ₹11.00 lakhs a year.

On an industry placement basis, consulting got the maximum number of offers (128), followed by BFSI (75) and FMCG (67). The ITES/IIT space provided 38 offers, while General Management made 52 offers. Other industries, such as cars and online shopping, had 24 offers, followed by manufacturing (18), conglomerates (13) and pharmaceuticals and healthcare (10). Consumer Durables and Energy & Environment both had seven offers, while Real Estate had six and Online Gaming and Human Resources both had five. Fintech and IT Consulting both had four offers, while the aviation sector had three. The health-tech, logistics and education industries each provided two offers. Interestingly, the retail sector contributed one international placement.

464 students from the 2023 PGDM (BM) and PGDM (HRM) batches were eligible for placement. Of these, 463 of them were placed by the institute, with only one not being placed through the campus process. All 463 of the students placed accepted their offers.  The highest pay package offered was ₹57.08 lakhs per annum. The median annual package was ₹28.94 lakhs with an average of ₹27.24 lakhs. The minimum pay offered was ₹16.50 lakhs a year.

Based on sector placements, the consulting industry offered the maximum number of offers, with 138 offers. The IT industry also contributed heavily, with IT Consulting providing ten offers, IT Software providing five and IT Solutions providing 24. The E-commerce industry provided 34 offers, while the food & beverage industry provided 11 offers. The automobile industry employed 19 students, while the manufacturing industry employed 12.  Pharmaceutical and healthcare firms provided ten offers. The "Others" category included 37 offers, of which one was for an international placement.

The top placement role in the previous three years consistently registered its highest. The salary range was highest at ₹80.35 LPA, then ₹75.00 LPA and ₹53.53 LPA in the following years. The mean average salary varied from ₹27.07 to ₹29.40 LPA. The top 10% of students had an average salary of ₹55.27 LPA, while the other years saw ₹50.74 LPA and ₹47.07 LPA. The top 25% of the batch earned mean salaries between ₹40.20 LPA and ₹41.90 LPA.  The average salaries of the top 50% varied between ₹33.40 LPA and ₹35.89 LPA. Median incomes over the years were ₹26.25 LPA, ₹24.00 LPA and ₹27.50 LPA, which points towards consistent competitive placement performance.
