Fr Quinn Enright, S.J. established XLRI in 1949 in the Steel City, Jamshedpur. Fr Enright dreamed of XLRI being a partner in India's path of emancipation and development towards renewing the face of the earth. Fr Bill Tome joined him to make it happen. Together, along with the other Jesuit colleagues, they laboured day and night to implement the vision "Renewing the Face of the Earth.

About Batch Profile

A batch profile is an overview of students within a particular academic batch. It includes details like the number of students, the composition of men and women, their work experience, educational qualifications and preferred industries. It helps businesses and others understand the diversity, capabilities and interests of the students. For instance, it shows how many new students there are, how many have work experience and what sectors (like consulting, tech or finance) they want to enter after graduation.

Key Elements commonly found in the Batch Profile

• Class size: It includes the number of students in the batch.

• Gender Ratio: The ratio of male and female students.

• Academic background: It comprises undergraduate degrees or majors.

• Work Experience: In all the program, total years of experience.

• Industry Background: Fields in which the students were previously employed, e.g., information technology, banking, consulting, manufacturing and strategy.

• Test Scores: Mean XAT, GMAT, or other entry test scores

• Age Range: Mean age of the students or range.

XLRI Jamshedpur PGDM (BM) / PGDM (HRM) Batch Profile 2023-2025

The XLRI Batch 2023-2025 comprises 590 students in the Business Management (BM) and Human Resource Management (HRM) streams. The BM school has 406 students, with 227 from the Jamshedpur campus and 179 from the Delhi-NCR campus, while the HRM school has 184 from the Jamshedpur campus. The batch exhibits impressive academic diversity, with 20% of students hailing from prestigious institutes like IITs, NITs and BITS and 17% from prestigious Delhi University colleges like SRCC and LSR. Additionally, 56 students in the batch possessed professional qualifications like CA, CFA or FRM.

With regard to gender representation, the BM program consists of 74% male and 26% female students, while the HRM program offers 43% male and 57% female representation. For job experience, the average for BM students is 19 months, while that for HRM students is 16 months. In the BM cohort, 24% are new hires, 32% have 0-1 years, 25% have 1-2 years, 13% have 2-3 years and 6% have experience of over 3 years. HRM students consist of 34% fresh applicants, 10% with 0-1 years, 20% with 1-2 years, 22% with 2-3 years and 14% with experience of over 3 years. Sectoral interests vary by program. 

In BM, 30% of the students are interested in technology and engineering professions, followed by ITES and product management (25%), consulting and strategy (20%), FMCG, Pharma and Others (15%) and BFSI/PE/VC (10%). HRM students are specifically keen on Consulting & Strategy (25%), FMCG, Pharma & Others (22%), ITES & product management (22%), Technology & Engineering (19%) and BFSI/PE/VC (12%).

XLRI Jamshedpur PGDM (GM) Batch Profile 2025 - 26

The XLRI PGDM (GM) batch of 2025–26 consists of 119 students with an average age of 26 years. The average work experience is 4 years and 8% of the batch possesses international work experience. In terms of gender, 40% are females and 60% are males, which is amongst the best in one-year programs. Background-wise, 58% are from IT backgrounds and 42% are from non-IT backgrounds. The majority of the students possess work experience ranging from 3 to 4 years (66%), followed by 22%, which has a range of 4–5 years and 12% with more than 5 years of experience. The students' industry background varies, with 41% from IT/ITES, 27% from consulting and advisory services and others from BFSI, engineering, automobile, energy, supply chain, FMCG and aerospace industries. XOL (PGDBM/PGDHRM/PGDF) Batch Profile 2022 - 2024

The XLRI XOL Batch of 2022-24 consists of 107 students. With an average work experience of 66 months (5.5 years), the batch average age is 29 years. Around 15% of students possess international work experience. With regard to gender diversity, 64% are males and 36% are females. With regard to professional background, 41% of students are from IT and 59% are from non-IT backgrounds. The students have different educational backgrounds, with 67 of them being engineers, followed by 18 from business, 7 from other fields, 6 from science and 5 from arts and management. The batch are also diverse in industrial experience with IT/ITeS, manufacturing, automotive, oil, gas and power, telecom, BFSI, retail & FMCG, education & training, tourism and services, among others. Deloitte, Infosys, PwC, Accenture, TCS, Amazon, Bosch, Bank of India, Tata Steel, EY, JP Morgan, KPMG, BYJU'S, Dell, HCL, Capgemini and numerous other organisations now have XLRI XOL graduates on their rolls.

PGDM (LSCM) Batch Profile 2024-2026

The XLRI Jamshedpur Logistics & Supply Chain Management program has 15 students in the 2024-26 batch, with 13 males and 2 females. The batch average employment experience is 19.9 months. Academically, 47% of students are from premier institutes like IITs, NITs, IIITs, BITS and IISER and 13% from SPAs and other national institutions. Additionally, 13% of the class possess a master's degree. The batch is also high in domain diversity with 13 engineers and 2 non-engineers. The distribution of work experience consists of 33.3% new hires, 20% with 1-2 years, 33.3% with 2-3 years and 13.3% with over 3 years of experience.
