The teaching faculty of the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) forms the intellectual core of the institute and greatly influences its academic performance. The diverse faculty comprises an impressive combination of scholars, researchers and practitioners from industry and possesses extensive subject matter expertise and interdisciplinary knowledge drawn from diverse fields in management and beyond.

IIM Kozhikode has around 100 full-time faculty members in areas such as economics, finance, accounting, marketing, organisational behaviour & human resources, quantitative methods & operations, strategy and information systems. A majority of them hold doctorates from premier world institutions and have considerable teaching, consulting and research experience. In addition, the institute invites visiting teachers and industry practitioners from India and across the world on a regular basis, complementing classroom learning with practical experience.

The IIMK faculty is proud of its research. The faculty are engaged in frontline research, publishing in leading international journals, working on policymaking, and presenting papers at prestigious academic conferences. They also direct other research centres and initiatives, including IIMK's incubator (LIVE), the Centre for Governance and the Centre for Business Innovation. The research of the faculty is academically robust and socially appropriate, with a focus on industry.

In addition to teaching and research, the faculty at IIMK are involved in consulting, executive education, curriculum development and public policy guidance. They also follow thought leadership through opinion pieces, books, case studies and national and international panel participation.

IIM Kozhikode faculty follow a student-oriented method towards establishing an interactive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment in the classroom.
