The Institute is the first IIM to attain the prestigious AMBA certification, joining fellow award winners London Business School, INSEAD and HEC Paris in 2010, with further re-accreditations in 2015 and 2020. The Institute was able to secure a five-year AMBA reaccreditation starting in 2023. IIMK also received the prestigious EQUIS accreditation in 2021, which was extended for a five-year cycle in 2024. The next step is extra AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) certification, which will complete the prestigious Triple Crown certification. As a first step to gain this mission, IIMK became an education member of AACSB in January 2019.

IIM Kozhikode History

The Government of India established Kozhikode as the fifth IIM in 1996. It started the first batch of PGP in Management with 42 students at the NIT-C campus in 1997. It was the first IIM in Asia to pioneer interactive learning packages for working executives via satellite delivery technologies in 2001. In 2002, it developed a Centre of Excellence in collaboration with the Kerala government to mentor SC/ST students. The IIM moves to a new 97-acre hilltop campus in Kunnamangalam, Kozhikode in 2003. It started providing the Fellow Program in Management (PhD) in 2007 and IIMK is regarded as the fourth top management institute in India (source: Businessworld, December 24, 2007). It worked with ESCP-EAP (France), Copenhagen Business School (Denmark) and Bocconi University (Italy) on an international exchange in 2008. IIM obtained worldwide certification from the Association of MBAs (AMBA), UK, in 2010.

IIM Kozhikode offers a full-time program of management courses for working professionals and fresh graduates. Its two-year full-time flagship Postgraduate Programme in Management (PGP) centres on key issues like finance and specialised fields. IIM Kozhikode 2025 CAT Exam Cut-Off

Candidates must take the CAT exam in order to be considered for admission to IIM Kozhikode's prestigious Postgraduate Programme (PGP) in 2025. Although the institute hasn't formally released the cut-off, the CAT percentile will be at least 97. Nevertheless, apart from the CAT score the ultimate selection might consider other factors as well, like academic accomplishment, work experience and diversity factors.

IIM Kozhikode Admission Process

Admission to IIM Kozhikode's flagship PGP is based on a three-stage screening procedure:

Stage 1: Registration

To qualify, candidates should meet minimum cut-offs, which are a graduation percentage of not less than 60% (50% for CA/CMA/CS certificates) and positive scaled CAT scores in each of the three sections. They should then apply online and specify IIMK in their CAT application.

Stage 2: Shortlisting for WAT/PI

Contenders are shortlisted category-wise through an Aggregate Index Score (AIS) that takes CAT scores, Class 10 and 12 percentages, academic and gender diversity and work experience into account. The weightage at this level is CAT ~45%, Class X and XII total ~40% and diversity and experience ~10-15%.

Stage 3: Written Ability Test (WAT)

Shortlisted candidates have to undergo a Written Ability Test (WAT) and a personal interview. Final offers are made on scores allocated as CAT (35%), PI (35%), WAT (20%) and résumé (10%)—all consolidated under a category-wise ranking list in accordance with the Government of India's reservation policy.

IIM Kozhikode Placements

IIM Kozhikode placements 2024 have closed for the PGP batch 2024 and also for the third batches of PGP-Finance (PGP-F) and PGP Liberal Studies and Management (PGP-LSM). IIM Kozhikode boasts a robust faculty of 93-100 full-time professors with specialisation in economics, finance, marketing, information systems, strategic management, OB/HRM, quantitative methods and liberal arts in management.  The faculty hold PhDs and have more than a decade of experience in academia and industry.
