SPJIMR conducted its annual convocation in 2025, with Chief Guest HUL's Nitin Paranjpe

The annual convocation 2025 of S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research College was held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at its Mumbai campus. The function commemorated the success of 800 institute full-time and modular postgraduate programme graduates, including two Scholar Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) Scholars.

The valedictory guest of honour is Mr. Nitin Paranjpe, Non-Executive Chairman, Hindustan Unilever. Governing Council Chairperson SPJIMR Mr Deepak Parekh, SPJIMR Dean Dr Varun Nagaraj, SPJIMR faculty & staff and families of graduating participants attended.

Mr. Nitin Paranjpe delivered the convocation speech, drawing on his decades of global business experience to encourage the graduating class to lead with purpose, resilience and a commitment to continuous growth. He spoke about India's bold aspiration to become a Viksit Bharat by 2047 and provided advice for a new type of leadership that is ethical, compassionate and motivated by the greater good.

Mr. Paranjpe emphasised three life lessons learnt from his professional and personal experiences: There is no such thing as a good or bad job; it is the mindset you bring that shapes your experience. The real joy and the key to excellence lie in enjoying what you do. Don't try to be the best in the world; try to be your best self. Ongoing self-advancement is your entitlement, obligation and greatest privilege. Your purpose is the inner energy that fuels your passion and drive. When you find out what really sparks you, cling to it; it is the most precious commodity you'll ever possess.

In his speech, Dean Dr. Varun Nagaraj provided a candid reflection on the challenges faced by graduates in an uncertain world marked by geopolitical tension and the dual promise and peril of AI. SPJIMR graduates were guided by its mission of value-based growth and wise innovation, and he encouraged them to enter this complex landscape with confidence.

Mr. Nitin Paranjape, the chief guest, awarded scholastic medals to the sixteen top achievers across programmes, while the Dean of SPJIMR presented commendation certificates to the 50 graduates from the Dean's Honour List.

The institute,s full-time and modular program, includes the (PGDM) Post Graduate Diploma in Management, (PGEMP) Post Graduate Executive Management Programme, (PGPDM) Post Graduate Programme in Development Management (PGPMBM), Post Graduate Programme in Marketing & Business Management and (PGPGM) Post Graduate Programme in General Management diplomas were granted in the institute.

The convocation ceremony concluded with the traditional hat throw to commemorate the graduates' journey and the start of their new chapter as responsible, value-driven leaders.
