The Chief Minister's Business Catalyst Initiative hosted a programme from May 19 to May 30. The program includes students from MIT, Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU) and William Carey University. Dr. Cassie DeFilippo, an International English Language Fellow at the US Department of State, organised the workshops. The workshops were organised in close collaboration with PRIME Meghalaya and the Meghalaya government.

The workshops were for students from various professions such as business, tourism, finance and marketing. They focused on imparting the communication skills needed in the modern-day workplace. Topics taught included project proposal creation, understanding when to address subjects with formal or informal terms, active and passive voice in the workplace and effective usage of AI tools for communication.

Team collaboration and conflict resolution were emphasised as essential skills for people to work well in today's workplaces through interactive elements. The programme ended with a business pitch competition. In this program students offered team-based proposals that showed their critical thinking and communication skills.

The project aim is to equip the next generation in Meghalaya with the confidence, skills and attitude needed to excel in an innovative employment landscape.
