IIM Sambalpur Sets A New Record Among the IIMs, With 60% Female Graduates at its 9th Convocation
The Prime Minister’s principal secretary, Dr. Pramod Kumar Mishra was invited as the chief guest for the 9th convocation ceremony of IIM Sambhalpur. Chairman of IIM Sambalpur’s Board of Governors and Chair, Padma Shri Arundhati Bhattacharya, Director of IIM Sambalpur Prof Mahadeo Jaiswal and Boston Consulting Group, MD, Mr Ashish Grag was also present in the ceremony.
Professor Jaiswal announced that the institute is aiming to get triple crown certification (AACSB, EFMD and BGA) in the next two years. The 2023–25 batch of MBA saw more than 250 companies participate in the placement process and posted impressive performance amid worldwide economic slowdown. Highest salaries were ₹31.12 Lakhs per annum domestically and ₹35.00 Lakhs per annum internationally.
IIM Sambalpur Five Management Programs
The IIM Sambalpur 2023-2025 batch saw a historic convocation ceremony as five different programs students graduated together with an all-time high 60% of female graduates. A total of 370 students graduated out of whom 316 were from the MBA, 10 from MBA for working professionals, 38 from executive MBA, 6 PhD students and 2 from PhD for working professionals. The most notable thing in the ceremony was the graduation of GM Gupta, an eighty year old from the MBA program for working professionals.
The convocation ceremony marked the exceptional academic achievements of students with a total of seven medals. A student Vipul Sharma was awarded ‘Chairman's Gold Medal for Academic Excellence in MBA’ followed by Nilaksh Dixit who was awarded the ‘Director's Gold Medal for Academic Excellence in MBA’. A student Abhishek Kumar Singh was honored with the Director's Gold Medal in MBA for Working Professionals, Rajesh Kumar Sahu received Chairman's Gold Medal in Executive MBA. Sameer Babulal Meher and Raghvendra Patel were awarded the Director's Gold Medal in Executive MBA and the ‘IIM Sambalpur Gold Medal for Best All-Rounder in MBA’ respectively.
