IIM Sambalpur in collaboration with NTA launches a bureaucrat-training program
IIM Sambalpur has partnered with the National Testing Agency (NTA), headquartered in Delhi, to launch two new undergraduate courses. These two undergraduate programs are aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP), 2020. The two undergraduate programs are a BS in management and Public policy and a BS in data science and artificial intelligence.
However, IIM Sambalpur has become the first IIM to offer admission to its BS in management and public policy program through CUET examination, which is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the NTA. IIM Sambalpur is offering admission to its program, BS in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, through the IIT-JEE Main.
These two newly launched cross-functional courses have a prime objective to produce responsible leaders who can solve problems in society and industry using creativity, compassion and a global perspective.
Community-driven development, sustainability and ESG (environmental, social and governance) objectives are all integrated into the Bachelor of Science in management and public policy to meet national managerial ambitions. The aspiration of this program is to equip future generations of change agents to fill the gap between grassroots policy and action.
Mahadeo Jaiswal, who is the Director at IIM-Sambalpur that the undergraduate courses at IIM-Sambalpur had a flexible structure that can allow the students to gain a certificate in one year, a diploma in two years and a degree in three years. Students can achieve an honours degree after completing four years of study.
He quoted- “The first is the BS in data science and AI, a four-year programme. The admissions will be to this programme through an entrance test held by the NTA. This programme will shortlist students who have obtained a minimum of 70 per cent marks in their Class X and Class XII board exams, together with top percentile or high marks in the JEE (Main) test. We are admitting 90 students to this programme in phase one.”
