IIM Bangalore Tops Positive Impact Rating 2025 as a ‘Pioneering’ Business School
The Positive Impact Rating measures whether business schools are contributing towards bringing about positive social and environmental change. It is a global initiative by students backed by groups like WWF, Oxfam International and the UN Global Compact Switzerland and funded by VIVA Idea and the Institute for Business Sustainability (IBS).
IIMB performed exceptionally well in all seven dimensions of impact of the PIR framework with excellent scores in Governance (9.42), Culture (9.32) and Public Engagement (9.29). The institute received robust ratings in Programs, Learning Methods, Student Support and Role Modeling as well as reflecting its values-based and comprehensive approach to learning.
IIMB Director Prof. Rishikesha T. Krishnan stated that IIM Bangalore over the last decade has been pushing its mission of fostering responsible and sustainable business practices. He further said that the accreditation shows the institute's long-term efforts and convergence with societal needs.
The 2025 PIR edition registered a record 86 business schools from 28 nations. For the first time, a Faculty Survey was included in addition to student assessments providing a rich dual-perspective of institutional value and influence.
