What is a batch profile?

A summary of the students in a specific academic batch is called a batch profile. It contains information about the number of students, the gender distribution, their job history, level of education and industries of preference. It enables businesses and others to grasp the students' diversity, capabilities and interests. For example it displays the number of new students, the proportion with job experience and the industries (such as consulting, technology or finance) that they wish to pursue following graduation.

Key elements often found in batch profile

The batch has 583 students (399 males and 184 females) and a gender split of 68% male and 32% female. Academically it has 59 IITs, 82 NITs, 8 BITs and 22 SRCC students and 17 CAs, 45 CFAs and 7 other professionals. Work experience varies from 250 (0-1 year), 118 (1-2 years), 129 (2-3 years), 63 (3-4 years), to 23 (4+ years). Sectoral interest comprises finance (65), operations (93) and strategy (209), among others. Operations (214), Strategy (209) and Human Resource Management (183) are the strongest three specialisations.

The PGP-SM batch has 47 students with diverse academic and professional backgrounds. A significant 90% of the batch are male students and 10% are female students, with an average work experience of 4.1 years, reflecting the program's attractiveness to experienced professionals. About 23% of the cohort hail from premier institutions such as IITs, NITs and BITs. The majority of students possess engineering and technology degrees, such as metallurgical, chemical, civil, computer science, electrical, mechanical, petroleum and related fields. Others hold degrees in finance and accounting, English literature and business analytics, which provides interdisciplinary muscle to the class.
