  • Initially, students should have passed their Class 12 or equivalent exam from a recognised board like CBSE, ICSE or any state board. 

  • A minimum of 50% marks in Class 12 is required by most institutions, although some other institutes accept students who have obtained 45% marks.

  • The course is available for students from any stream, such as commerce, science or the arts. But it would be helpful to have a background in commerce studies or business studies, but it is not necessary. Some colleges might want English to be one of the principal subjects studied in the 12th grade.

  • There is no fixed upper age limit, but some colleges do have an upper age limit, typically around 22 years. 

  • Aside from academic qualifications, some colleges also have entrance exams.  These may be national-level exams such as CUET, NPAT or university-specific exams. 

  • Interviews or group discussions are also done by some institutes after the entrance exam to select the most suitable candidates.
