"MARGADARSHAN" a Student Mentorship Program for the MBA Class of 2025–2027 is Launched by IIM Nagpur
The ceremony was inaugurated by Dr. Bhimaraya Metri (Director of IIM Nagpur) and Mr. Rajeev Dubey (Chief Guest and former Chairman of Mahindra First Choice Wheels, Mahindra Insurance Brokers and Mahindra Steel Service Centre). He is also a member of the International Labour Organisation's Geneva Governing Body.
Dr Metri labelled Margadarshan as a catalyst for moulding ethical, innovative and resilient leaders. He further said technical knowledge alone is not enough in today's changing business environment. Leaders need emotional intelligence, flexibility and a high sense of civic responsibility. Margadarshan fills the gap between theoretical learning and industry needs, equipping our students to lead from the front.
Mr Rajeev Dubey delivered the keynote speech urging students to view leadership as a service and not as a position of power. Leadership is not power but purpose. It requires courage to stand up for what's right, humility to listen and toughness to succeed in the unknown. When you tie your personal aspirations with the common good, he said also stating that mentorship provides real-world sage advice no textbook can match.
Margadarshan as per Prof. Prashant Gupta (Dean - Faculty & Academics) is a structured platform for experiential learning. It's not just an industry interface but one where there is a sustained interaction between mentors and mentees who co-design learning experiences, he further stated.
The program also comprised interactive sessions in which the mentors shared their careers, leadership insights and sectoral experiences and students gained useful information about managing corporate problems.
Professors Shailendra Nigam Chairperson of CDS, Prakash Awasthy Chairperson of MBA, Alok Kumar Singh Dean of Executive Education and Devashis Rath attended the ceremony and expressed gratitude for the initiative's efforts to improve market readiness.
