GMAT Registration 2025: How to Apply?

The GMAT is a computer-based entrance test and the whole process of registration is also computer-based. To start with you must first build a GMAT profile. Here are the simple steps:

Step 1: Visit the official GMAT website MBA.com and establish your exam profile.

Step 2: Create your login credentials (username and password) to register for the exam.

Step 3: At registration time, you will be prompted to receive notifications regarding scholarships, business school admissions and offers from GMAC. This is voluntary.

Important Payment Rules

  • If your card is declined, your test booking will be automatically cancelled.

  • If you use a stolen or fake card, your registration and scores may be cancelled and the schools and authorities may be notified.

  • If you dispute the payment without a valid reason (called a chargeback), your exam and scores may be cancelled and you may be blocked from future GMAT exams.

GMAT 2025 ID Requirements for Test Day (Test Centre & Online)

For GMAT at the Test Centres

On the day of the GMAT test at a test centre, all candidates will need to present a valid international passport. In case of absence of the passport, the expiry of the passport, or incorrectness of the passport the test will be cancelled and the candidate will forfeit the entire exam fee. No exemptions are permitted.

For Online GMAT Tests

If the test is taken online candidates are required to present one government-issued ID as part of the check-in procedure. If the ID is not compliant with all the necessary requirements they will lose the exam fee and will have to pay again to take the test.

Major Update (Effective June 11, 2025):

Aadhaar cards are not accepted as a valid ID in online GMAT tests anymore. If the test date is post-June 11, 2025 candidates have to produce some other valid ID. Otherwise, it will result in cancellation of the test as well as loss of the fee.

Acceptable ID: What's Required?

The most accepted ID is the international passport. It should satisfy the following requirements:

  • Not expired as it should be up-to-date and valid.

  • Name should be exactly as used while registering on mba.com (including spelling and order).

  • Date of birth should be exactly as given in registration details.

  • A clear and recent photograph that is easily identifiable.

  • Signature on the ID.

Note: If the ID or passport lacks one of these details, the candidate might be required to produce a second acceptable ID that covers the omitted information based on local regulation.

IDs That Are Not Accepted

The following types of identification are not acceptable for either the online or test centre exams:

  • Passports or IDs that have expired.

  • Cards of passport.

  • Social cards for security.

  • Classification cards in draft form.

  • Credit/debit cards.

  • Employee or student ID cards.

  • School/college letters.

  • IDs with a physical description rather than a photo.

  • Photocopies of any ID.

  • Selfies, portraits or profile shots.

  • Any ID that does not comply with the rules above.

GMAT Exam 2025 Testing Accommodation
