Info at Glance 

• Registration for the CAT 2025 will start in August.

• Registration for the CAT is closed in September 2025.

• CAT admit cards 2025 can be downloaded from November 2025 (tentatively).

• The CAT 2025 date for the exam is November 30th.

• CAT answer key 2025 for each of the three slots will be available in the last week of December 2025.

• The official CAT 2025 answer key will be declared on the official website www.iimcat.ac.in  and can be downloaded as a pdf by using the ID & password.

• The result of the CAT will be declared in the fourth week of December 2025 (Tentative).

• The status of the shortlisted candidates of IIM Ahmedabad will be made available in the first week of January 2025 (Tentative).

•  The tentative dates for GD-PI admission to IIM Ahmedabad are February-April 2025.

IIMA History

On 11th December 1961, the GOI (Government of India), the Government of Gujarat & the Harvard Business School collaborated with the Indian industry to form IIM Ahmedabad. Some very famous individuals contributed significantly in shaping the institute such as Vikram Sarabhai and Kasturbhai Lalbhai. But Kamla Chowdhary was also the inaugural faculty member of the IIM Ahmedabad & programs coordinator during the year 1962 to 1965.

Ravi J. Matthai was appointed as the director of the institute. At the institute, students are accepted to various master's courses in management & agribusiness management and other executive training and fellowship programs.

In 2024, the National Institutional Ranking Framework ranked it as India's number-one business school. Over the years 2020–2024, it has occupied the number one position among management institutions in India. IIMA stands for the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.
