IIM Jammu Signs MoU with NHPC for Training, Research & Consultancy

IIM Jammu has signed a long-term alliance with NHPC Limited a leading government-owned power corporation by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The partnership will be based on skill building, providing consultancy services, joint research, case studies and setting up academic collaborations.

IIM Jammu Signs MoU with NHPC for Training, Research & Consultancy

The MoU was executed in NHPC's Corporate Office at Faridabad by retired Cmdr Kesavan Baskkaran who is the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of IIM Jammu and NHPC’s General Manager Rajeev R Asthana. The signing took place in the presence of Uttam Lal who is the Director (Personnel) at NHPC, Prof. Rajesh Sikka who is the Co-Chairperson of Executive Education and Consultancy at IIM Jammu along with several senior officials from both institutions.

This collaboration will draw upon the capabilities and facilities of IIM Jammu to enable NHPC to augment its organisational capabilities. It will comprise activities like executive education and training programs, consultancy projects, academic courses like Executive MBA and PhD for working professionals, internships, collaborative research and attending conferences and seminars.

Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director of IIM Jammu, added that this MoU would be a potent instrument for knowledge transfer, leadership development and organisational development. He mentioned that IIM Jammu was committed to assisting NHPC with contemporary research, efficient training and quality education programmes that suit contemporary business and governance requirements.

Uttam Lal who is the Director (Personnel) in NHPC stated that this partnership is a significant step in the direction of NHPC's mission to enhance academic as well as professional standards. He welcomed IIM Jammu's properly thought-out and forward-looking strategy to develop skills and stressed the need for knowledge-based partnerships.

Prof. Sanjeev Pathak who is the Chairperson of Executive Education and Consultancy of IIM Jammu also underscored that these types of collaborations are imperative to equip leaders who can manage new challenges and enhance their organisations.

Under the deal, IIM Jammu will provide executive training, consultancy services and long-term education to NHPC employees. The two campuses will also collaborate on research assignments, case studies and knowledge-sharing sessions so that NHPC can learn and develop.
